Whirlwind Surreality

Webs,

My weekend jaunt was surreal. I landed in a flat, wide state covered in more snow than I'd ever seen in my entire life. I saw friends I hadn't seen in four years. We relived lots and lots of tales from our time as camp counselors in the Colorado mountains. I went to my first ever bachelorette party. I attended a wedding. I rode home in a tiny plane with someone with serious gastrointestinal issues, which meant I spent a good majority of the flight gagging and looking around to spot the gassy culprit [no luck].

I took lots of photos.

I also left my camera in Colorado.

No photos for you, Webs.

Another day, I suppose. Whenever my camera makes its way back home.

In lieu of photos, here's the "first dance" song. I'd never heard it before, but it fits the style of the couple well.

I would apologize for how lame this photo-less post is, but then I remembered that it's my blogumentary, and blogumentaries are honest, not necessarily interesting. Right? yeah.

Here Comes the Sun

Fall is coming so quickly, and I'm not ready for it. I feel like I haven't gotten my share of summer yet, since Germany doesn't exactly do summers to my liking - too chilly, too rainy. Autumn's my favorite season, but I want it to hold off for just a little longer this year...

I am mad in love with this photo. I wish I were her...

Time to get back to my programming, I suppose. Do you know, Interwebs, what's worse than having two tests in one day? Bombing two tests in one day. And then having a lot more work waiting for you at home. And spending yet another cold night in the library. As my little broseph might say, first world problems.

Forging ahead!

How bRob ended up yelling at the man operating the Y's front desk:

bRob: "Hi, I don't have my card. Is that alright?"
Guy: "No, where is it?"
bRob: "Um, at my house."
Guy: "You need to go back to your house and get it, ma'm."
[Did he just ma'm me?]

bRob: "Can't you just look me up on your computer?"
Guy: "No ma'm, you need to go back to your house."

bRob: "But I'm a member here, why can't you just look me up?"
Guy: "Where is your card?"

bRob: "At my house!"
Guy: "Well, you need to go to your house and get it."
bRob: "Oh, I get it, you're joking."
Guy: "No, you need to go get your card."

**This goes on for two more minutes, kind of like that, but more...repetitive**

Finally, bRob can't take it anymore:

bRob: "YOU ARE BEING INCREDIBLY RUDE!!"

Guy: "I'm just kidding, ma'm."
bRob: "..."

*bRob's  face went ...
like this, except for where she was a little more bug-eyed.*

bRob: "...oh. i'msorry."

*bRob speed walks off, Guy just continues laughing"

People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway

Technicolor: Music, Lights, Fairy Tales, Design

My week in links, pictures, and articles. Except my week looked a whole lot more like the inside of a library and lots of economics, circuits, and manufacturing. But I'll spare you those pictures.

enjoy, InterWebs.

Isn't that gorgeous? The lovely Lillian of Unstitched and talented Danni of Oh, Hello Friend took their boys and put together this beautiful table for a rooftop date night in Mexico. Lillian was kind enough to share her photos with us, InterWebs!

This sweet setup leaves me speechless. I would SO eat just about anything at that table.

Check out these beautiful and modern lights. I wanted to post a picture, but I couldn't figure out how...It's ok. I trust that you're curious enough to go check out Bocci's incredible lights on your own.

This is pretty amazing. Apparently, in theory, this is a DIY project. I don't imagine I could ever really create this chandelier without a lot of injury, sparks, and property damages.

Another creative use of small space. In case you haven't noticed, living in small, tiny spaces is the new megaTrend. It's greener and cheaper and, honestly, cuter. How fun is that lofted bed?

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
